本品為無色透明的立方結(jié)晶或白色結(jié)晶粉末，分子式為KCl，分子量為74.55。無臭，味咸澀，易溶于水，在乙醇中不溶。溴化物不大于0.1%，含純99.6~101.0%。醫(yī)用氯化鉀是臨床常用的電解質(zhì)平衡調(diào)節(jié)藥，臨床效果確切，廣泛用于臨床各科。用于診治和預(yù)防各種原因（進(jìn)食不足、嘔吐、嚴(yán)重腹瀉、應(yīng)用排鉀，在~藥或長(zhǎng)期應(yīng)用糖皮質(zhì)刺和腎上腺皮質(zhì)刺、失鉀性腎病、Bartter綜合癥等）引起的低鉀血癥，亦可用于心、腎性水腫以及洋地黃等強(qiáng)心甙中毒引起的頻性、多源性早搏或快速心率失常。
